Mr. Hashim Rexhepi, the Governor of the Central Bank of Republic of Kosovo was born in Kosovo. Governor Rexhepi is Bachelor in Economics and holds Master Degree in Insurance Science.

Governor Rexhepi joined the Central Bank in 2003 as the Director of the Department for Licensing and Supervision of Insurance Company of Kosovo, to be promoted to the Chief Supervision Officer and afterwards Deputy Managing Director for Financial Supervision. For four years in a row he was an Executive Chief Officer Statistical Office of Kosovo (SOK).

His private sector experience includes working as General Manager for a Private trading Company -Trade Enterprise “Celina Commerce” and “Protrade”.   Mr. Rexhepi is a Lecturer at the Department of Insurance Science at the University ‘Pjeter Budi’.

Governor Rexhepi has written many articles and papers on economic and financial issues. He is also an active member in many Committee and working groups at domestic and regional level dealing with central banking and financial supervision matters.
