Governor Petar Goshev

Born in 1948. Graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Skopje in 1971, where he received his master's degree in 1983.

 

First employed in the ‘11 Oktomvri-Skopje’ bus factory. From 1973 to 1986, employed in a number of positions in the Labor Union of Macedonia, including as Member of the Council and the Presidency. From 1986 to 1991, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Union of Macedonia and its Presidency, and from 1989 to April 19, 1991, its President at a time when the Communist Union of Macedonia was transformed into a social-democratic party. From 1986 to 1989, a member of the Federal Economic Council of the former SFRY, and in 1988 a member of the Committee of the Federal Government for Economic Reforms when the non-market economy was finally abandoned.

 

In 1989 established the Commission for Reforms, whose objective was to introduce a system of parliamentary democracy and market economy. In 1991, head of the delegation of the Republic of Macedonia in the Assembly of Former SFRY and President of the Board for Credit and Monetary Policy. From 1991 to 1997, NBRM Council member. In 1993 he established the Democratic Party, which was afterwards renamed as the Liberal-Democratic Party, and he was its President until 1998. From 1991 to 1994 and from 1998 to 2002, representative in the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia.

 

From November 1, 1992 to November 5, 2003, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia and Minister of Finance.
